The zone (flow state) is a state in which the mind and body are integrated and perform at their best . You do not feel any changes in emotions such as anxiety, fear, discomfort, or anger, your body moves automatically, you feel as if you are in a movie , you perform at your best , and you are concentrating only on playing. In other words, it is a state in which you are completely absorbed in playing and working with all your heart.
Furthermore, when you are in the zone, it is said that you can see everything except yourself slowly, and your eyesight and hearing become very sharp . It is said that this state has an internal reward of making you want to experience it again. When you are completely absorbed in solving a math problem, and several hours have passed without you noticing, it is also considered to be in the zone.
Former professional baseball player and former Giants manager Kawakami Tetsuharu, known as the "God of Batting," once said," The ball looked like it was stopping " when he was batting. Kawakami is said to have said, "(During special batting practice) I just kept hitting the ball with all my might, as if I was trying to clear all my thoughts. I was so focused that I forgot about the time, and the ball looked like it was stopping at the point of contact. "It is thought that he was so intently focused on batting practice that he was in the zone, his decision-making became faster, and the ball looked like it was stopping.
